This handy and lightweight application helps you bring life to your Windows desktop and Explorer by customizing the color of your folder icons. If you feel bored of working with Windows’ traditional yellow color, this tool can help you find a new and entertaining way to work with your desktop. Besides fun, Folder Colorizer also offers you the possibility of sorting out your folders by color code for easier and faster identification.
The program simply installs a new command into Windows’ contextual menus that allows you to select the new color of the folder. To change any folder's color, you just need to right-click on it, select the "Colorize" in the drop-out menu, and click on the preferred color. By default the program offers you 9 colors to choose from including green, blue, red, violet, yellow, silver, and others. However, you can also select the "Colors..." command to apply customized colors with the help of a color wheel, and add them to the list for future use. Finally, the menu also includes a command that allows you to return a folder icon to its Windows default color with a single click.
To put it shortly, Folder Colorizer helps you bring life and color to your Windows desktop in an extremely easy manner. The program is compatible with all Windows versions starting from XP onwards, and its installer is a very lightweight 1.38 MB file. Unfortunately, it tries to install third-party tools along with Folder Colorizer, which are not necessary at all for the program to work correctly.
